Donata Carelli è una scrittrice, sceneggiatrice, giornalista e docente italiana nata a Sabaudia (Latina) il 5 aprile 1971. Vive tra Roma e la sua città natale, ha costruito una carriera poliedrica nell'ambito umanistico e creativo.
Formazione Professionale. Diplomata in Sceneggiatura cinematografica alla NUCT (Nuova Università Cinema e Televisione). Ha frequentato i corsi di McKee a Londra (Story Seminar and Genre) e il corso The Art of Screenwriting di Irv Bauer a New York.
Attività Universitarie

Già cultore della materia alla Lumsa, docente di master di Storytelling all'Università di Roma Tre, docente a contratto presso Università di Roma Tor Vergata, attualmente insegna come Esperta esterna di Scrittura 'Transcodifica Letteratura-Cinema, scrittura creativa, storytelling e rapporti tra letteratura e cinema nel Laboratorio MILLA-Scritture per le scene dello spettacolo all'Università di Roma Tor Vergata, specializzandosi nel processo di adattamento di un testo letterario in opera filmica.

Narrativa: "Io madre mai" (2024, Piemme Mondadori), il suo primo romanzo, sul tema della scelta di non maternità. Un barattolo pieno di lucciole (2014, Guida Editore, romanzo-intervista);
Saggistica: "Ugo Pirro. La scrittura del conflitto" (2020, UniversItalia, con prefazione di A. Purgatori).
Teatro: "BAB ARABIE. La porta della primavera" (2003, vincitrice del Premio Fondi La Pastora); "Non dormi mai" (2021, premiata dal Bando Regione Lazio).

Donata Carelli was born and lives in Sabaudia, on the slopes of Circeo mountain, a land suspended between history and myth. With a degree in Classical Literature and an international PhD in Humanities between Italy and Greece, she teaches Literature at high school and teaches Literature Transcoding - Cinema as an external expert at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in the MILLA Laboratory, Writing for the Performing Arts. Journalist and writer, after graduating in Screenwriting from NUCT (New University of Cinema and Television), she attended McKee's courses in London, Story Seminar and Genre and Irv Bauer's course The Art of Screenwriting in New York. She has always been involved in creative and film writing, teaching at universities in Italy, Greece, and the United States. She is the author of award-winning plays, essays, films, and documentaries. She is currently promoting the novel Io madre mai, published by Piemme. She is the author of the monograph Ugo Pirro. La scrittura del conflitto (Ugo Pirro: Writing Conflict) for UniversItalia, with a preface by Andrea Purgatori.
She has collaborated with numerous directors and screenwriters such as Ugo Pirro, Andrea Barzini, Anna Pavignano, Gianfranco Pannone, Wilma Labate, and Francesco Ranieri Martinotti.
